Q: Which products do you offer? A: Currently we offer one product: Sync For SQLServer. It is made for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and later. The version 1.5 does not work any more with SQL Server 2000.
Q: What is the purpose of Sync For SQLServer? A: Sync For SQLServer is needed if you develop on a SQL Server basis and there is more than one instance of your database. In the progress of your work, you will often make changes to your database. Now it is a lot of work to make these changes also to your other databases. You can propagate these changes manually, write SQL scripts to do this work or you can automate this task using Sync For SQLServer.
Q: What is needed to run Sync For SQLServer? A: Sync For SQLServer is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, prior to running this software you have to install the .NET Framework (go to the Microsoft webpage). You have also to install the Crystal Runtime (see the Products page). If you have SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 installed on your local computer or any other place on your network then you are ready to start. Q: How does Sync For SQLServer work? A: The change process includes always the same simple steps: You select a data source and a destination database, then you compare these two and create an SQL change script. While you create this change script you will be asked after some information if necessary. For example if the modification of your destination database include adding a new table columnn, then you will be asked for a default value for the table data for the new column. After having synched your schema you wil be able to take over data into your Destination database with some data from your Data Source database. You will be able to take over data in a very sophisticated way. |
